……………..Storms forecast for yesterday afternoon. .Going to the V.A. means parking in the main parking lot and walking to the CLC~~wonderful, NOT !
OK~~I’ll take the shuttle, the word has been given that Cody is allowed on the shuttle and We’ll be dropped near the front door .It doesn’t matter if we get wet after the visitation, but I can’t possibly take a wet Great Pyrenees in to see the guys if we get wet beforehand.
And up steps Hubby~~”I’ll drive you, drop you both right at the front door~~I need to go over to the new Fisher House today, I have some DVD’s to leave there for the kids.” big grin here~~”thanks !!!”
Off we go, water, towels ,dog, treat bag ~~~~No Lady soldiers today, but so good to see the guys, catch up on happenings~~a hug to the Dr. that is leaving for ***** on Friday, another hug for a caregiver that is watching out for her brother, he has not been alone since he arrived. Somehow, I think he senses this, he is not alone~~~ a few minutes later, we’re walking into a room, Cody stops and plants his feet~~What? He’s been trained differently, He knows better ! ~~I follow his gaze~~to the left, another room, a Lady sitting there, by Her side is a Vet. Not a word passed, nothing , but Cody was straining toward them~~Why, I don’t know~~~ I drop the leash, slowly , Cody walks into the room across the hall , He walks up to the Lady , lays his head in Her lap , the Vet watches and smiles. Then Cody walks over to the Vet. accepts loving, then back to the Lady. I’ll never know what the connection was, why He went to Her. why He strained on the leash,then pulled until He was free.
