We are looking for the right person for Princess 👑👑👑👑 When Princess came into our foster care in August 2024, she was completely broken. She had never known kindness, never been inside a home, never felt the security of a leash or the warmth of a gentle touch. People — especially men — terrified her. Doorways were monsters. Every sound, every movement sent her looking over her shoulder, waiting for something bad to happen. She hid in our bedroom for weeks, too afraid to step out into the world. But even then, through all her fear, Princess showed who she really was — a soul full of sweetness. She was gentle with our other dogs, our cats, even the chickens and horses. It was like she was just waiting for someone to believe in her. Now, as May approaches, the light is finally coming back into her eyes. She walks proudly on a leash. She’s completely housebroken. When I come home, she runs to the door to greet me, tail wagging, hope shining through where fear used to live. She still struggles with men — her past is not so easily forgotten — but she tries. She barks and growls from fear, not from anger, and even then, she allows you to approach her, to speak gently, to pet her. She wants to trust. She wants to be brave. She just needs someone patient enough to show her it’s okay. Every night, she curls up next to our bed, as if holding on to the little safety she’s found. Princess deserves a home full of patience, kindness, and unconditional love. She deserves someone who will see the brave little heart fighting every day to overcome her past — someone who will love her not in spite of her scars, but because of them. Princess isn’t just a dog. She’s a survivor. And she’s ready for her happily ever. If you believe you’re the right person for Princess, apply to adopt her here: https://www.floridapyrs.org/application/
