Dogs Available
If you are interested in adopting a dog, contact Joyce Gambacurta at 813-546-3100. We try to return calls within 24 hours, but because we all work full-time at regular jobs, we cannot always do so. We appreciate your patience if we can't get back to you right away. We will return your call as quickly as we can.
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out our online application. We conduct a home visit and ask for a veterinarian reference before any dog can be adopted. This allows us to help you choose a dog that will fit in with your home and family.
Please also consider fostering a Great Pyrenees. We are always in desparate need of foster families. We do not have kennel space; all of our dogs are placed with loving families until they are adopted. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can save. The first step in the foster process is to fill out our online application.

Kennedy's Sad Tale
Hi my name is Kennedy. My owners abandoned me when they moved out of state and left me and others on a farm with no food or water. I’m only 47 pounds at 2 years old and all my ribs and hip bones are showing. All of my hair is missing (except for a little on head) from mange. My rescuers say I am very sweet, I ride well in a car and I really love to eat (since my previous owners didn’t feed me), so I am very food protective, but not with humans. I have many bathes ahead of me and I still need to be neutered (but that will wait until I can gain weight) but I will need lots of help. Please find it in your heart to help and donate for my treatments. Click Read More to find out how to help Kennedy.

Bear is a 1 year old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix. Bear is becoming acclimated to his new surroundings, including penned chickens and goats of various sizes and ages. He has started to play with the other dogs but is still a little cautious with them. He has had no reaction to the antics of the goat kids all around him. So far, so good. He is tall like the Anatolian Shepherd and has a flat coat but is colored more like a Pyr.Shania
Shania is about 3-4. She was found wondering the mountains of Tennessee for months. It looks like she might have had some puppies at some time, but doesn't have to worry about that any longer. Shania says: "I came in very thin even though you can't tell by my pictures. I have lots of hair (even though they cut a lot of mats out) my ribs and hip bones are very prominent. My foster home now is feeding lots of good food, and I'm even eating it in a bowl now. I enjoy laying outside in the dirt and love to dig the hole to lay in. I'm pretty quiet an occasional woof but that all for now... I did find some nice bread on the counter and was able to help myself, so my forever home will need to know to put things out of reach. I can also be a little protective on my food, so you'll have to watch that too. I also love when my foster parents pet me as I now know what love can be..."

Hi my name is Blanco, I’m about 2 years old and very friendly. I’ve been told that I have happy eyes and I like to be with people and I like to be petted. I play well with others and I sometimes like to dig in the dirt. I will need a good fence, as I’ve been known to climb so I would need at least a 5ft. fence. I’m up to date on shots and heartworm negative.Duchess

Belle is a big girl with a very loving personality. She is a tad chunky and needs to lose a few (!!) pounds but is a really sweet girl. She is very pretty but has had to be shaved due to being badly matted. When she grows her coat back out though, she'll be a stunner! She is 3 years old, walks politely on a leash, is gentle taking treats but has a few issues with squirrels... not that she'd get up to go chase them! She's too laid back and mellow for that!Pupkin
Pupkin is a very pretty girl with the most remarkable eyes...almond colored with dark rings! She has lovely tan markings and is very cute and snuggly. She has never lived inside, but is adapting to blankies, air conditioning, toys and cuddling on your lap really quickly. She hasn't had an accident in the house and has nice manners on a leash. She is a bit shy especially about riding in the car. No problems with the riding just not sure about getting in and out. Pupkin would love a home that can give her loads of hugs and a family of her own to watch over.Sadie
Are you looking for a little white Mercedes with 4 on the floor?? In that case, test drive our Sadie. She is a 1 1/2 year old smooch muffin. She has lovely leash manners, sits and downs for a treat of course, and is the best back seat driver ever! She is a little protective of her treats, only with other dogs, though. She loves to be with you, a true velcro dog. She is a compact little thing with the cutest smile and personality to match. Sadie has an extra little curl to her tail and the thickest softest coat and she loves to be brushed. Harry
Harry is a handsome young man, with that desirable blocky head. He will fill out more to be a stunning adult. His biscuit and cream coloring is dynamite, and he has a kind loving manner about him. He is current on his shots, heartworm negative, and neutered. This boy is ready for his forever home!Harry and Sally are very closely bonded and must be adopted together.
Sally
Sally is about 1.5 years old, with the matching joie de vivre of a teenager. She is always ready to romp and play! This girl gets along well with other dogs, and is clean in the house. She is current on her shots, heartworm negative, and spayed. Are you her forever home?Harry and Sally are very closely bonded and must be adopted together.

This big senior is a 10 year old owner surrender. He has lived his whole life with one owner. He is easy-going and just wants a quiet home. He seems to perk up when he sees cats, but has not chased them. He takes treats gently and walks beautifully on a leash. Please consider this old fellow.Goliath is clean in the house, and loves to lean against your leg for pats. He might be a senior, but he still considers himself an alpha dog. This gentle dog always greets us with a hearty tail wag and a big smile.
Sugar
This big senior is a 9 year old owner surrender with a lovely thick coat. She has lived her whole life with one owner and was surrendered due to the owner's illness. She is fine with other dogs, but is not good with cats. She greets children with a wagging tail and sits for her treats. She enjoys leash walks and will make you a fine companion, so pretty she stops traffic.Lucy
Lucy is an absolute sweetheart. She even comes when she
is called (that definitely is the lab side of her). She is crate trained and
house broken. She loves to play with the other dogs. She has a very
easy coat to take care of.
