If you are interested in adopting a dog from the Florida Great Pyrenees Club, contact Chantal at 727-856-7730. We try to return calls within 24 hours, but because our club is made up of volunteers, we all work full-time at regular jobs, we cannot always do so. We appreciate your patience if we can't get back to you right away. We will return your call as quickly as we can. Please fill out our online adoption application at http://www.floridapyrs.org.
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out our online application. We conduct a home visit and ask for a veterinarian reference before any dog can be adopted. This allows us to help you choose a dog that will fit in with your home and family.
Please also consider fostering a Great Pyrenees. We are always in desperate need of foster families. We do not have kennel space; all of our dogs are placed with loving families until they are adopted. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can save. The first step in the foster process is to fill out our online application.

 Hey there, my name is Rex. I'm a young guy who was found in a ditch by some very nice people who saved me. I needed all my fur shaved to get rid of the mats but I know it will grow back better than ever. I'm also waiting to start heartworm treatment as soon as I gain a little more weight. I love playing with other dogs and still consider myself a puppy at heart. I am well mannered on a leash and crate trained. I'd make a great addition to your family if you want a handsome young guy to call yours furever!

 Hey! I'm Balto! I'm being tested as a LGD. I'm 4 years old and very kind and sweet! I get along well with my
entire pack including a cat and a little dog! I think I have a bit of
Akbash in me and I've been trying to put on some weight. I really like
guarding my home and my people. I am not a big fan of thunder or closed
in spaces but as long as I have people around I do ok. I am being
treated for heart worms so it shouldn't be much longer until I'm heart
worm free. I really enjoy having lots of space to roam about and love
being loved on my people! I can be pretty chill and laid back, unless I
sense a threat to my home! Then I'm up in a flash and on guard! I know
the difference between strangers and friends of the family and sure
enjoy company!! I have good leash manners and am not frightened by
cars, dogs or other activity outside and I like to go on walks and other
adventures with my foster family. Do you need a guard dog and new best
friend? I think I might be the pyr-fect dog for you!

 Hello! My name is Jake and I'm 4 years old. I've been gaining weight since I've found my rescue family and I hope to put on a few more pounds over the next few months! I've been having a few allergy problems that my foster mom is working on fixing! I prefer to be outside and take my job as "watch dog" very seriously!! I get along with all the other animals here including horses, cat and even little dogs! I don't jump the fence or dig holes in the yard, as I know most people don't like that behavior!! I feel like I'm pretty even tempered and just want a family to call my own! Maybe we could meet sometime and see if we're a match!

 Hello! My name is Duchess. I'm new to rescue and still very shy, so my family is still learning about me. I am trying to gain some weight and will need to be treated for heartworms soon. I like going for walks but am a bit scared of loud cars. I like being inside and usually find a quiet corner to curl up and sleep in.  Hey there, my name is Shasta! When I first came into rescue they thought I might want to be a house dog, but we figured out I really enjoy the outdoors. I've been working with goats and love being around other Pyrs. I wouldn't do well working alone, so I'd like to find a family with another dog. I love people, especially when they pet me! I'm Heartworm positive and undergoing treatment, I should be all better in no time. I'm really sweet and loyal, can I go home with you?

 Hi! My name is Mischa. I'm 2 1/2 years old and full of energy! I'm very smart and I like to be in charge. I would really like to find a home that would help me get lots of exercise and provide firm but loving guidance. I like playing with other dogs as long as they aren't too bossy (alpha) and I really enjoy being around cats and children! I get a little anxious when I'm left alone, so I need someone who will be patient while I learn to trust that you aren't leaving forever.  My foster family has told me I'm quite beautiful and have a great personality...I just need to find a the right family! Wanna meet me? I'll have you wrapped around my dew claw in no time!!

 Hi...I'm Sasha. I'm new to rescue so I'm still a bit reserved, but once I get to know you the kisses just come flying out! I'm starting to fill out now that I'm in foster care but I don't think I'll get too big! I LOVE playing in the water and exploring everywhere! I can be a bit nosy but it's only because there's so much to learn about around me! I enjoy playing with the other dogs in my foster home and would love to meet you!! Call us soon!! I'd love a family to call my own!!
